David Fraley's Artwork

There are currently 53 paintings for sale, with others to follow.  The majority of the works are acrylic on gesso textured canvas or acrylic on gesso textured board. Additional works are available from various periods in David's career.  These pieces will be posted separately in the near future.

There are a total of 26 drawings for sale.  Additional drawings are available and will be posted at a future date.

I have inherited the balance of the paintings and drawings by David Fraley.  In doing so, I have moved them from Atlanta to my home in Seattle.  Between 2001 and 2015, I assisted the executor of David's estate with the continued marketing and selling of David's works.  It is now my sole duty to bring all of the remaining pieces to the market so that they can be appreciated by all.

Do you own a David Fraley painting or drawing?  Are you interested in selling it but need a place to market it?  I would be interested in discussing the possibility of adding it to this web site.

David Fraley's Artistic Statement

"The tension between Image and Pattern has been the primary focus of my visual investigation from the beginning. Subject matter intentionally shares equal attention with the physicalness of each work so they deliberately and alternately fight and compliment each oether. Perception of the work may change radically depending on the viewing distance and angle.

Is light wave or particle? It is both -- but never simultaneously.

The painted image is intended to visually disintegrate into components of color and shape as one physically approached the work. The textural waves and fragments on which the image floats or in which the image is submerged, references the ephemeral but paradoxically iconic nature of mass media and other electronic imagery (re: Marshall McLuhan, Jacque Ellul).

David Fraley's paintings owe much of their visual underpinnings to Impressionist paintings of the late 19th Century while referencing the contemporary visual texture and complexity of electronic media -- such as the surface matrix and floating images of the television screen."
